Conquer fear and
live boldly
Find courage and peace by choosing faith
Life is not easy or safe—each of us will encounter trials, tragedies, and tough times.
The fear of disaster and death, injury and illness, and failing and being forsaken can leave us paralyzed in panic, anxiety, and despair.
I know because I’ve been there—an atheist consumed by fear who self-medicated to get through the night. But there is a way out of our desperate situation. God offers divine courage to those who choose faith over fear.

If I had landed on this web page ten years ago, I would have said, “This is not for me. I don’t believe in God and certainty don’t think He is waiting around to help me.” If that is you, I understand.
I started my blog for people like you and me—people who have doubts and ask questions. In 2024, I am posting a blog series called 20 Tough Questions, in which I discuss the questions about faith that troubled me most as an atheist.
If you are looking for honest, respectful, and clear discussions about tough questions in faith, join my newsletter to receive an email for each new blog post.
I’m a construction attorney and writer in San Antonio, Texas. As a lawyer, I have helped multiple clients achieve 7- and 8-figure damage awards. In 2024, I am launching my first book, Amazing Courage, about the power to choose faith over fear.
Beyond the briefs and books, I’m a husband, father, and ultra-distance endurance athlete who has completed long races in infamously tough conditions, like the Leadville 100 Trail Run and the Habanero Hundred.
All of this seemed an impossible future when I was an atheist struggling with anxiety and panic attacks in my mid-20s, but I learned (the long and painful way) to fight fear’s lies with God’s truth. I put those hard-earned lessons into practice when my father was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. Now, I seek to help others overcome their fears through faith in action.
